About Me

Georgeanne Smith

Yoga helps me connect to the most creative, authentic expression of myself. I teach to inspire and encourage that deeper connection for all who practice with me.

My hope is that students gain access to a level of freedom and inner peace through the practices of yoga asana, mudra, mantra and meditation. I believe that the alchemy of practice frees students up to move toward the most creative, authentic expression of their path off the mat, too!

I have been in love with the practice of yoga for over 25 years and gave myself the gift of Rasa Yoga teacher training for my 50th birthday in 2019 and have been teaching ever since. The training sparked an alchemical shift in my life, and the emotional and spiritual growth that continues to unfold has led to a commitment to embody the principles of yoga in both physical and spiritual practice.

My classes guide students through progressive poses to feel their authentic expression in each practice, and I hope to inspire loving acceptance of how that unfolds. Nothing makes me happier than sharing how the practices of yoga can serve each of us to step into the fullest expression of our creative gifts!

When I’m off the mat you might find me knee-deep in the garden or juggling grandbabies, two of my greatest joys in life. I love to travel, and I am working toward offering transformational travel in the form of yoga retreats in the near future!

I am trained in the Rasa Yoga lineage through my teachers Greta Hill and Sianna Sherman. Rasa Yoga integrates flow and form with mudra, mantra, pranayama, and inspired themes.

Physical poses; literally means ‘seat’ in Sanskrit – the poses help us work tension out of our bodies to feel connected to our most creative path.

Sacred sound – manas means ‘mind’ and tra means ‘tool’ – mantra can be “a tool for the mind,” and can help us feel our true nature through the vibration of sound.

Hand gestures, sacred seals; literally means ‘to bring forth delight’ in Sanskrit – mudras help us feel the energy of connection in embodied form.
Breathwork; prana means ‘vital life force’, and yama means ‘to gain control’ – we connect to our breath as our inner guide throughout practice.
“Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love.”
